Houses and lanes are concentrated on the narrow, level ground of the valley. On the map they form a slender, elongated cluster.

关于地图
Shahrak Map Poster & Print
Shahrak is in Ghor province, in the high, mountainous centre of Afghanistan. The land here is rugged, cut by narrow valleys where water and flat ground allow settlement and farming. From above, the town follows the valley floor, and cultivated plots stretch along the watercourse between steep, bare slopes.
Ghor is among the most remote provinces in the country, and reliable detailed information about Shahrak is limited. What the map shows is the basic logic of life in these highlands: houses and fields concentrated where there is water, with roads following the valleys through the mountains.
In black and white, the thin line of the settlement and its fields stands out against the empty terrain. A Shahrak map poster is spare and quiet, a portrait of a place where the landscape still sets the terms.

Fields along the water
Cultivated plots follow the stream through the valley. Their small, irregular shapes add fine detail next to the settlement.
Mountain roads
Tracks and roads wind through the valleys toward other districts. They are among the few long lines on an otherwise open sheet.
