West Broad Street
The main commercial road runs straight through the area and is lined with large retail plots. It is the heaviest line on the poster and anchors the rest of the layout.

关于地图
Short Pump Map Poster & Print
Short Pump is a community in western Henrico County, Virginia, on the edge of the Richmond metropolitan area. It has no historic grid. Its map is built around a few large roads, with West Broad Street as the main spine and the interstate corridors nearby, and around them sits a spread of looping residential streets that end in cul-de-sacs.
The name is usually traced to an old tavern on the road west whose pump had a short handle, a small roadside detail that outlasted the building itself. Today the area is best known for its shopping, especially Short Pump Town Center. On the map it appears as a large block of parking and buildings next to the main road.
A Short Pump map poster is really a portrait of suburban drawing: winding subdivisions, curving collector roads and patches of woodland between neighbourhoods. In black and white those loops and dead ends form an almost ornamental pattern, which is very different from the straight blocks of an older city. That contrast makes it an interesting piece to hang next to a map of downtown Richmond.

Looping subdivisions
Residential streets curve and branch into cul-de-sacs, and at print scale they build up a dense, decorative pattern of loops.
Wooded gaps
Stretches of tree cover and stream corridors separate the neighbourhoods. They leave quiet open areas that break up the suburban street pattern.

为什么选 Short Pump
一张有意义的地图
Many families put down roots in Short Pump, and a map of the exact subdivision where you bought your first house or raised your children means more than a generic view of Richmond.
Add your street name, family name or move-in date to the title and subtitle, then choose one of five styles. Classic black and white suits the tangle of curving streets, and Sand softens it for a living room.
