Mediterranean coast
The shoreline curves along the northern edge of the map. The sea is a broad, calm area of tone that balances the open desert to the south.

关于地图
Sīdī Barānī Map Poster & Print
Sīdī Barānī is on Egypt's Mediterranean coast in Matruh Governorate, between Mersa Matruh and the Libyan border at Salloum. The map is simple and bold. A pale, irregular coastline runs along the top, the coastal highway runs parallel to it, and the settlement gathers where the two meet. Inland lies open desert.
The name is familiar to many people from the Second World War. In 1940, Italian forces advanced into Egypt as far as Sīdī Barānī, and a few months later British and Commonwealth troops drove them back in the opening battles of Operation Compass. Today it is a quiet coastal town that serves the surrounding Bedouin communities.
A Sīdī Barānī map poster is mostly space: sea on one side, desert on the other, and a thin strip of streets and road between them. For those interested in the desert campaign, or with family roots in the area, that minimal layout carries a lot of meaning.

Coastal highway
The main road to Mersa Matruh and Salloum runs parallel to the sea. It is the strongest line on the poster and ties the settlement together.
Desert hinterland
South of the town, there are only a few tracks crossing the land. The emptiness gives the map a clean and spare composition.

为什么选 Sīdī Barānī
一张有意义的地图
Some people choose this map because of 1940 and the desert war, while others know it as the family's coast. In both cases, a minimalist poster of the settlement between sea and desert is a thoughtful way to mark the connection.
Add a date, a regiment or a family name in the subtitle, and edit the title and coordinates as needed. Choose from five styles, including Sand and Noir. HD files cost $9 in six sizes, and a free 900 px preview is available.
