Sīkar Map Poster & Print
Sīkar lies in the Shekhawati region of northern Rajasthan, on flat and dry land. From above, the old town is a tight mesh of narrow lanes and bazaars. It is surrounded by later districts with wider streets and larger plots. Highways leave the centre in several directions, linking the town to Jaipur and to the other towns of the region.
Shekhawati is known for its painted havelis, the merchant houses whose walls and courtyards are covered in murals. Sīkar shares that heritage. The town was once the seat of a local thakurate, and its older quarters still follow the pattern of a walled market town. In recent decades it has grown into a regional centre for education.
A Sīkar map poster contrasts the fine grain of the historic centre with the open plain around it. The streets are dense in the middle and thin out towards the edges.
