Planned street grid
The core of Sinop was laid out as a planned settlement, so its streets form long straight lines and even blocks, a regular pattern that prints cleanly in black and white.

关于地图
Sinop Map Poster & Print
Sinop is a young city by any measure. It was founded in the 1970s as a planned settlement in northern Mato Grosso, and its name comes from the acronym of the colonising company that laid it out. That origin shows on a map: the centre is a deliberate arrangement of wide, straight streets and regular blocks, drawn with a ruler rather than grown over centuries.
The city sits beside the BR-163 highway, the long north–south road that carries grain from the interior of Brazil toward northern ports. From above, the highway reads as a firm spine along the edge of town, with the urban grid set against it. East of the city the Teles Pires River winds through the landscape, and the land beyond the streets breaks into large rectangular fields and patches of remaining forest.
A Sinop map poster keeps only the lines: the tidy grid of the centre, the looser neighbourhoods added as the city grew, and the highway cutting past them. With colour and satellite texture removed, what remains is a clear picture of a town planned in a single generation, which makes it an unusual subject among city maps and an easy one to read at a glance.

BR-163 corridor
The BR-163 highway runs alongside the city and shapes its edge, a single strong line that anchors the composition and hints at the region's role in moving grain north.
Teles Pires River
To the east, the Teles Pires River curves through the countryside, its loose bends a natural contrast to the straight geometry of the streets nearby.

为什么选 Sinop
一张有意义的地图
Sinop means a great deal to the families who helped build it, many of whom arrived from southern Brazil within living memory. A poster of its grid is a way to mark that story, whether for someone who grew up there or someone who came to work the surrounding land.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a family name or the year you arrived, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster, framed if you like.
