Skvyrka River
The small river passes through the town. Its thin, meandering line separates neighbourhoods and gives the otherwise flat plan a natural central feature.

关于地图
Skvyra Map Poster & Print
Skvyra lies in the south of Kyiv Oblast, among the flat, fertile fields of the Dnipro Upland. The town is built along the Skvyrka River, which winds between its neighbourhoods as a soft line through the plan. Around the centre, the streets mix older, irregular lanes with long, straight residential roads lined with houses and gardens.
Before the twentieth century Skvyra had a large Jewish population and was the seat of a Hasidic dynasty, the Skver Hasidim. Their followers later founded the village of New Square in New York State in the 1950s, and its name is an anglicised form of Skvyra. That link gives this small Ukrainian town a surprisingly wide recognition.
A Skvyra map poster focuses on the town's modest, readable plan: the river, the central streets, the roads toward Kyiv and Bila Tserkva, and the rural edges beyond. In black and white it becomes a clean study of a Ukrainian district town, a shape many people with roots here will recognise at once.

District town centre
A cluster of civic streets and blocks forms a denser area at the core of the map. From here the main roads head out across the surrounding farmland.
Rural edges
Long streets of private houses with deep garden plots stretch outward. Beyond them, field roads lead to neighbouring villages across open, level land.

为什么选 Skvyra
一张有意义的地图
Skvyra is hung by people who grew up here, by Ukrainian families abroad, and by descendants of the town's Jewish community, including those connected with New Square. Each sees something different in the same streets, and a map lets all of those histories share one frame.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps in Ukrainian transliteration or with a family name and a year, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files or order a matte print, framed or unframed.
