关于地图
Sliven Map Poster & Print
Sliven sits at the southern foot of the eastern Balkan Mountains, and its map is defined by the meeting of slope and plain. To the north, the dramatic ridges known as the Blue Rocks rise almost straight from the edge of the city, and on the map they appear as steep, empty ground where only a few winding roads and paths make their way up.
The city itself spreads southward across flatter land, with a denser historic centre and later residential districts arranged in larger blocks. Sliven is often called the city of the hundred voivodes, a reference to its role in the resistance against Ottoman rule, and it was home to the first textile factory in Bulgaria, opened in the 1830s.
A Sliven map poster shows a city pressed up against a mountain wall. The contrast between the fine street pattern of the town and the open, rugged terrain to the north gives the print a strong upper edge, while the plain to the south lets the streets spread out more loosely.

Historic centre
The older core of the city has a denser, more irregular street pattern, clearly distinct from the larger blocks of the districts built later to the south and east.
Southern plain
Toward the south the ground flattens and the city extends into open land, with longer roads running out across the plain toward neighbouring villages.

为什么选 Sliven
一张有意义的地图
People from Sliven often speak of the mountains first, and a map poster shows exactly how close they are. It is a way to keep the city's shape on the wall, whether you live on its streets or remember them from abroad.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be edited to include a neighbourhood, a name or a date, and the design is available in Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download it for $9 or order a print.
