Songjianghe Map Poster & Print
Songjianghe is a town in Fusong County, in the southeast of Jilin province, set among the forested foothills that lead up toward Changbai Mountain. Its layout is shaped almost entirely by the valley it occupies: streets run lengthwise along the river, cross streets are short, and the built-up area thins quickly wherever the slopes begin to rise.
The area has long been associated with forestry, and the landscape around the town is dominated by woodland rather than farmland. On a map this produces a calm, open field around a narrow settlement, broken only by the river, the main road and a few smaller routes following side valleys up into the hills.
The town lies within the wider approach to Changbai Mountain, the volcanic massif on the border with North Korea known for its crater lake.
