Teolocholco sits in the state of Tlaxcala, on the lower western slopes of La Malinche, the large dormant volcano that rises between Tlaxcala and Puebla. On a map, the town's streets form a broad grid around a central square. Its outer edges break into long field strips and tracks that run up towards the mountain.
