关于地图
Thanbyuzayat Map Poster & Print
Thanbyuzayat lies in Mon State in southern Myanmar, south of Mawlamyine, on the coastal plain between the Andaman Sea and the hills along the Thai border. From above the town is a compact grid of streets beside the main road and the railway, surrounded by rubber plantations, farmland and villages. The sea lies a short distance to the west, beyond a strip of low ground.
The town is best known as the Burmese end of the Burma–Thailand Railway, built by prisoners of war and forced labourers during the Second World War. The Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery holds the graves of thousands of Allied prisoners who died on the line, and it is visited each year by relatives and others who come to remember.
A Thanbyuzayat map poster is a quiet object. It shows the simple layout of a working town, the rail line and roads heading north and south, and the plantations around it. For those with a family connection to the railway story, the map offers a restrained way to mark the place without dramatising it.

为什么选 Thanbyuzayat
一张有意义的地图
Some people hang this map because they grew up in Mon State. Others do so because a grandfather or great-uncle worked on the railway and is buried or remembered here. In either case the map is a calm, personal record of a single place.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be edited to include a name, a date or a few words, and the poster comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir and Paper suit a more reflective setting.
