Castle on the hill
The medieval castle occupies the high point of the old town. On the map its walled outline sits like a small closed shape, with the densest streets wrapped tightly around its base.

关于地图
Torres Novas Map Poster & Print
Torres Novas sits in the Médio Tejo area of central Portugal, in the district of Santarém. From above, the old town gathers around a hill topped by its medieval castle, with lanes bending downhill to meet the Almonda river. The water cuts a soft curve through the centre, and short bridges stitch the two banks together, giving the plan a clear spine that most small towns lack.
Beyond the historic core the streets loosen. Newer blocks and residential quarters spread across gentler ground, and roads fan outward toward the farmland and olive groves at the edge of the Ribatejo. In black and white, the contrast between the knotted medieval centre and the more open later growth reads clearly, the way rings in a tree record different seasons.
A Torres Novas map poster keeps the town at a scale where the castle hill, the river and the main approach roads all fit in one frame. It works for people who grew up here, for families with roots in the region, and for anyone who passed through on the way between Lisbon and the interior and remembers the view of the walls above the water.

The Almonda river
The Almonda runs through the centre rather than around it, so the town is read from both banks. Its course gives the poster a natural flowing line that balances the tight street pattern.
Old and new layers
Irregular medieval lanes near the castle give way to straighter streets and larger blocks further out, a transition that shows up sharply once colour is removed and only line weight remains.

为什么选 Torres Novas
一张有意义的地图
Torres Novas is the kind of place people carry with them after moving away: a castle, a river and the streets between. A framed map keeps that geography close, whether it hangs in a Lisbon flat, a house abroad or a family home a few streets from the walls.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example adding a wedding date or a family name, and choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The HD files cost $9, and printed posters on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame, ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
