关于地图
Tortiya Map Poster & Print
Tortiya lies in the north of Ivory Coast, in the Vallée du Bandama District, where the forests of the south give way to open savanna with scattered trees. On a map it appears as a modest grid of earth and paved streets around a centre, with tracks leading out into fields of crops and patches of woodland along seasonal watercourses.
The town is known for diamond mining. Deposits in the area were worked industrially for decades in the twentieth century, and artisanal digging has continued since, leaving traces in the land around the town. Today Tortiya is also a local centre for surrounding villages, with roads linking it to the larger towns of the region and to the wider network of the north.
A Tortiya map poster is a simple, honest record of a place: the grid of streets, the roads that leave in each direction and the open land around. It suits people from Tortiya now living in Abidjan, Bouaké or abroad, and anyone connected to the town through its mining history or through family in the region.

Roads into the region
Several routes leave Tortiya toward neighbouring towns and villages, giving the map a set of strong lines that connect it to the wider north.
Savanna landscape
Around the town, fields, woodland and seasonal streams create a sparse, light texture, a reminder of how much open land frames the settlement.
