Sound of Ulva
A narrow channel separates the island from Mull, crossed by a short ferry, and on the map it reads as a slim ribbon of water between two coasts.

关于地图
Ulva Map Poster & Print
Ulva lies off the west coast of Mull in the Inner Hebrides, divided from it by a narrow sound that a small passenger ferry crosses in minutes. The island is hilly and largely open, with basalt terraces, moorland and patches of woodland, and a coastline of rocky shores and small bays. Tracks rather than roads cross it, so the map is drawn mostly by landform and shore.
To the west, Ulva is joined by a bridge to its smaller neighbour Gometra, and together the two form a long chain of land pointing toward the Atlantic. The island had a much larger population before the clearances of the nineteenth century. In 2018 it passed into community ownership after a buyout by the North West Mull Community Woodland Company.
An Ulva map poster shows a place defined by its edges: the tight sound facing Mull, the indented coast and the island's link to Gometra. Lachlan Macquarie, later governor of New South Wales, was born on Ulva, and many Australians trace a connection here. It is a quiet, detailed map for anyone drawn to the Hebrides.

Gometra bridge
A small bridge links Ulva to Gometra at its western end, extending the island's outline into a longer chain facing the open Atlantic.
Basalt terraces
Stepped layers of volcanic rock shape much of the island's slopes and coast, giving the land a terraced quality that echoes neighbouring Mull.

为什么选 Ulva
一张有意义的地图
Ulva speaks to walkers who have crossed the sound for a day on its tracks, to Hebridean families, and to descendants of those who left in the nineteenth century. Its intricate coast makes a rewarding, detailed piece on a small or medium wall.
Set your own title and subtitle, perhaps a family name or the date of a crossing, and change the coordinates line if you wish. Choose between Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand to suit the room.
