Valley ribbon
The town stretches along the valley floor in a narrow band, a shape dictated by the mountains that leave very little flat ground for building.

关于地图
Upper Dir Map Poster & Print
Upper Dir is the main town of the Upper Dir district in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, known locally simply as Dir. It lies high in a narrow valley of the Panjkora river system, with mountains rising sharply on both sides. On a map, the town is long and thin, its built area stretched along the stream and the main road that follows it.
That road is the town's backbone. It continues north toward the Lowari Pass and the tunnel beneath it, the main route into Chitral, which gives Dir its role as a gateway and market town for travellers and traders. Bazaars line the main road, while smaller lanes climb the slopes in short, steep turns.
Dir was once the seat of a princely state, ruled by a nawab until it was merged into Pakistan's administrative system in 1969. An Upper Dir map poster shows the town as the terrain shapes it: a dense ribbon along the water, with forested mountainsides and scattered hamlets filling the rest of the frame.

为什么选 Upper Dir
一张有意义的地图
For people from Dir living in Peshawar, Karachi or abroad, the shape of the valley is unmistakable, and a map is a quiet way to keep it close. The strong linear form also makes a striking, uncluttered print for any room.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line to suit you, and choose a style: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 digital files come in six print sizes, each as a 300 DPI PNG and a print-ready PDF without watermark.
