Like much of the capital region, it has grown quickly, and from above it shows a mix of planned streets and more informal patterns. Roads connect it with other districts, and open land still appears between some of the built-up areas.
The Luanda region has expanded dramatically in recent decades, with new neighbourhoods appearing across the plateau inland from the Atlantic.
