North Sound
At the northeastern end, the island and a ring of smaller cays nearly enclose a broad, calm bay, a natural harbour long used by sailors.

关于地图
Virgin Gorda Map Poster & Print
Virgin Gorda is the third-largest of the British Virgin Islands, lying east of Tortola across the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Its outline is irregular and stretched, with a low, rocky southwestern section, a slender middle, and a higher, crumpled northeastern end that curls around the sheltered water of North Sound. The main settlement, Spanish Town, faces the channel on the western shore.
Its name is usually traced to Columbus, who is said to have thought the island's profile resembled a reclining woman. The best-known sight is The Baths, a stretch of shore at the southwestern tip where huge granite boulders form pools and passages along the beach. Gorda Peak, the island's highest point, is protected as a national park.
A Virgin Gorda map poster captures an island that is mostly coast. The roads are few and follow the ridges, bays cut in from every side, and small cays sprinkle the margins. The result reads almost like a calligraphic stroke on the page, which suits a sailing cabin, a beach house or a hallway far from the Caribbean.

The Baths
The southwestern tip holds The Baths. On the map it is a small, broken piece of shoreline, but anyone who has waded through the boulders will recognise the spot.
Narrow middle
In the middle the island thins to a slim neck of land between two bays, so the whole shape looks like two islands joined by a thread.

为什么选 Virgin Gorda
一张有意义的地图
Most people who hang this map have sailed into North Sound, swum through The Baths or spent a week on the island they still think about. The thin, intricate outline leaves plenty of white space and looks especially good in a tall frame.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, adding a boat name or the date of a charter. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and choose either instant HD files or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
