The seventeenth-century grid
The centre is laid out as a regular chessboard of straight streets. This planned pattern dates back to the town's founding in 1607 and gives the poster its strong, even rhythm.

关于地图
Vittoria Map Poster & Print
Few Sicilian towns look as methodical from above as Vittoria. There is no winding medieval knot here. The centre is a regular chessboard of straight streets crossing at right angles, with blocks of nearly equal size. That geometry comes from the town's origins: Vittoria was founded in 1607 by Vittoria Colonna Henriquez, and planned on a clear grid from the start. The pattern still shapes the whole historic core.
Beyond the edge of the grid, the map changes character. Roads leave town as long, straight lines across a flat agricultural plain in the province of Ragusa. The land is divided into rectangular plots, many covered by greenhouses that make the area one of Sicily's main producers of vegetables. The countryside is also home to Cerasuolo di Vittoria, the island's only DOCG red wine. Toward the southwest, the plain slopes down to the coast at Scoglitti.
A Vittoria map poster suits a town with this kind of clarity. In black and white, the grid becomes an almost graphic pattern of even squares, framed by the looser lines of farm tracks and country roads. It is a quiet, architectural image, easy to read at a glance and rewarding up close, where individual blocks and the wider piazzas start to stand out.

Squares within the grid
Here and there a block is left open to form a piazza. On the map these small voids break up the repeated blocks and mark the civic heart of the town.
Plain toward the coast
Outside the centre, straight rural roads and rectangular fields stretch across a flat plain. The land descends gently southwest toward the sea at Scoglitti, loosening the map's geometry.

为什么选 Vittoria
一张有意义的地图
Vittoria's map suits anyone with roots in southeastern Sicily, or anyone who simply likes a town planned with precision. The grid reads almost like a drawing, so it works well in a kitchen, a study or next to a bottle of Cerasuolo brought home from a visit.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a family name, a founding year or a date that matters to you. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. It comes as $9 HD files in six print sizes or as a printed matte poster shipped from a nearby partner.
