London Road spine
The old road to Portsmouth runs through the centre, a long, strong line along which the town first grew and the shops still gather.

关于地图
Waterlooville Map Poster & Print
Waterlooville lies in Hampshire, a few miles north of Portsmouth, beyond the ridge of Portsdown Hill. The town grew along the old main road from London to Portsmouth, and the map still shows that line clearly, with the shopping precinct beside it and residential streets spreading out on either side.
The name is said to come from an inn named after the Battle of Waterloo, where returning soldiers gathered in 1815. The area was once part of the Forest of Bere, and fragments of woodland and open space still appear among the housing estates on its edges.
A Waterlooville map poster shows a classic English suburban pattern: a central spine road, crescents and closes branching from it, and patches of green between neighbourhoods. It is a familiar, understated landscape that looks surprisingly elegant in fine black line.

Woodland remnants
Surviving patches of the old Forest of Bere and other green spaces leave areas of calm among the housing estates.
