Wewak Point
The town centre occupies a small headland projecting into the sea, its tight street pattern largely surrounded by water and clearly separated from the rest of the coast.

关于地图
Wewak Map Poster & Print
Wewak is the capital of East Sepik Province on the north coast of Papua New Guinea. From above, the town is laid out along the shoreline, with its main commercial area on and around Wewak Point, a small headland pushing into the Bismarck Sea, and residential districts spreading along the coast road and into the low hills behind. The airport lies east of the centre near the water.
Offshore lie several islands, including Kairiru and Mushu, which appear as dark shapes on a wider map. Wewak holds a significant place in Second World War history: the area was a major Japanese base, and the surrender of the Japanese Eighteenth Army was signed at nearby Cape Wom in September 1945. The town is also the gateway to the Sepik River region.
A Wewak map poster suits people from East Sepik, families with wartime connections to the region and travellers who began a journey up the Sepik here. The long coastline, the headland and the scattered islands make a composition with a lot of open water, which gives the print a spacious, calm balance.

Offshore islands
Kairiru, Mushu and other islands lie just off the coast, forming a loose chain of shapes that frame the town from the sea side of the map.
Coastal strip
Roads and settlements run along a narrow band between the beach and the hills behind, giving Wewak a long, linear outline rather than a compact grid.

为什么选 Wewak
一张有意义的地图
Wewak is far from most people's usual routes, which makes its map meaningful to those who know it: families from the Sepik, former residents, and relatives of those who served on this coast. The print gives a distant town a lasting place on the wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with names, dates or a short dedication, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files in all six sizes.
