Whitehall Map Poster & Print
Whitehall is a small city just east of downtown Columbus, completely surrounded by the larger urban area. The map shows a compact, largely postwar residential grid, with rows of modest houses on regular streets. Broad commercial corridors, notably East Broad Street and East Main Street, cross the city from west to east and carry traffic between Columbus and the eastern suburbs.
Much of Whitehall's growth came in the years after the Second World War, and the Town and Country Shopping Center that opened here in the late 1940s is often cited as one of the country's early suburban shopping centres. Nearby, the large Defense Supply Center Columbus occupies a big area of land near the city's northern edge, and John Glenn Columbus International Airport is not far to the north.
