关于地图
Wonji Map Poster & Print
Wonji lies in the Great Rift Valley in Oromia, close to the city of Adama and beside the Awash River. It's closely tied to sugar. The Wonji estate was the first commercial sugar plantation in Ethiopia, established in the 1950s, and the town grew up around the factory and its workers' housing.
That history shows clearly on the map. Irrigated cane fields fill the valley floor in large, regular rectangles divided by canals and service roads, and the Awash winds through in loose curves. The residential areas, factory and camps appear as separate built clusters within this engineered landscape.
A Wonji map poster brings the geometry of an agricultural estate into sharp focus. The straight lines of fields and canals contrast with the meandering river, which makes the composition much more graphic than a town of this size would suggest. It's especially meaningful for families connected to the estate.

The Awash River
The Awash flows nearby in a loose, winding course, the only irregular line in an otherwise ordered agricultural landscape.
Estate settlements
Housing and the factory complex form distinct clusters, reflecting a town that grew in stages around a single industry.

为什么选 Wonji
一张有意义的地图
Wonji is part of Ethiopia's industrial history, and many families have worked on the estate for generations. A map of the town is a record of that shared life as well as a striking piece of design.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, for example with a family name or a year, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
