Xenia Map Poster & Print
Xenia is the seat of Greene County in southwestern Ohio, east of Dayton. Its centre follows the classic Midwestern pattern of a courthouse and a regular grid of blocks, while outer neighbourhoods loosen into curving residential streets and farmland. Shawnee Creek runs through the town, and highways cut long lines across the surrounding fields.
Xenia is widely known for the tornado of 3 April 1974, part of the Super Outbreak, which destroyed a large part of the town; it was struck again in 2000. Today it is also a hub of the Ohio trail network: several paved rail-trails, including the Little Miami Scenic Trail, meet at Xenia Station, a trailhead built in the style of the old depot.
