关于地图
Xinying Map Poster & Print
Xinying is a district in the north of Tainan, on the broad Chianan Plain of southwestern Taiwan. For much of the twentieth century it served as the administrative centre of the surrounding county, and it remains a busy local hub. From above, its streets form a compact grid around the railway station, with the built-up area thinning quickly into cultivated land.
The name means new camp, a reference to a military farming settlement from the seventeenth century, when troops were stationed to cultivate land on the plain. That history is invisible on a modern map, but the flat, open countryside around the town still reflects centuries of intensive farming, divided by roads, ditches and waterways.
The Western Line railway and a national freeway pass through or close to Xinying, giving the town clear linear anchors. Beyond them lie fields, small villages and the channels of the Chianan irrigation network. A Xinying map poster turns this ordinary but carefully structured landscape into a clean composition of straight lines and small, dense blocks.

Compact town grid
The centre is a dense, fairly regular grid of short blocks, typical of Taiwanese market towns, with shopfronts along the main streets and quieter lanes between them.
Irrigated plain
Around the town, fields are divided by irrigation channels and farm roads into a fine, even pattern, part of the long-established water network of the Chianan Plain.

为什么选 Xinying
一张有意义的地图
Many people from Xinying now live in larger cities or abroad, and a map of the town is a way of keeping it close. It shows the station, the streets and the fields as they sit together, without needing a single famous landmark.
Write your own title and subtitle, in English or with a family name, and adjust the coordinates line. The poster comes in five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, with a watermarked preview available free before purchase.
