Orchard slopes
The alluvial fans around the city are divided into small plots of vines and fruit trees. On the map they form a fine, dense texture of lanes and field edges.

关于地图
Yamanashi Map Poster & Print
The city of Yamanashi lies in the north-eastern part of the Kofu Basin, in the prefecture of the same name west of Tokyo. The map shows a clear transition. Denser streets and rail lines occupy the lower ground by the rivers, then give way to a fine pattern of fields and small lanes on the fan-shaped slopes that lead up to the mountains.
This is one of Japan's best-known fruit-growing areas. Grapes and peaches cover much of the land around the city, and the Yamanashi region is closely associated with Japanese wine. In spring the peach blossom colours the slopes, and in autumn the vineyards turn.
A Yamanashi map poster traces how people have used every usable slope. Small, irregular plots cover the hillsides, roads curve along the contours, and the river valley stays open. The whole composition feels intricate but calm, a close study of a cultivated basin framed by mountains.

River lowland
The flatter ground along the rivers holds the main roads, the railway and the denser town districts. It gives the poster a clear lower spine.
Mountain rim
To the north and east, streets thin out as the land rises toward the mountains that enclose the Kofu Basin. The edge of the frame falls quiet.
