Lake Bolshoye Yarovoye
The large salt lake fills a broad part of the map, a smooth, open shape that makes the town's grid look even sharper beside it.

关于地图
Yarovoye Map Poster & Print
Yarovoye stands on the Kulunda steppe in the west of Altai Krai, on the shore of Lake Bolshoye Yarovoye. The lake is saline, and the town grew as an industrial settlement based on its chemical resources. On the map, the broad, smooth shape of the lake takes up much of the frame, and the town sits along its edge as a neat, compact grid.
Because Yarovoye was largely planned, its streets are regular, with long blocks and straight avenues oriented towards the shore. The surrounding steppe is flat and open, so there is little to disturb the geometry. The lake has also made the town a destination for people who come for its salt water and therapeutic mud, and that has left its mark on the shoreline.
A Yarovoye map poster pairs the calm, empty surface of the lake with the tight order of the streets. In black and white the contrast is especially clean, with a single mass of water on one side and a fine lattice of blocks on the other. It is a minimal, balanced image of a steppe town.
