Chora and its castle
The island's main town stretches along a ridge above the southern coast and ends at a Venetian fortress. On the map its lanes narrow towards a single point, like the tip of a pen.

Kythira Map Poster & Print
Kythira lies off the southeastern tip of the Peloponnese, where the Aegean meets the Ionian Sea. It is roughly oval, with steep cliffs along much of the coast and a high central plateau. Instead of one main town, the map shows a web of minor roads linking many small villages, each a little cluster of lanes among fields and stone walls.
In the south, Chora sits on a ridge crowned by a Venetian castle, looking down on the double bay of Kapsali. Mythology links the island with Aphrodite, who in some versions of the story first came ashore here. Its history is also tied to the Ionian Islands, whose long periods of Venetian and British rule it shared.
A Kythira map poster shows an island that is both enclosed and spread out. A firm coastline surrounds a main road that runs along its length, with branches reaching into ravines and down to coves. Ports such as Diakofti on the east coast and Agia Pelagia in the north mark the places where the roads meet the sea.

Kapsali bay
Directly below Chora, the coast curves into two linked bays separated by a small headland. Their paired arcs form one of the most distinctive shapes on the southern shoreline.
A web of villages
Dozens of small villages across the plateau are joined by winding roads. Printed at scale, they create a fine, evenly spread texture rather than one dense centre.
