Mikuriya Map Poster & Print

Mikuriya lies in western Tottori Prefecture, where the long lower slopes of Mount Daisen, the highest peak in the Chūgoku region, meet the Sea of Japan. Since 2005 it has been part of the town of Daisen. On a map, the land rises steadily from the shore, and roads and streams run downhill toward the coast in roughly parallel lines.

The coastline faces Miho Bay, the broad curve that continues west along the Yumigahama sandbar toward Yonago. Settlement is concentrated in a strip near the sea, along the coastal road and railway. Farmland, orchards and scattered hamlets climb the gentle incline behind it toward the mountain.

A Mikuriya map poster captures this meeting of mountain and sea on a single sheet. The rendering has no relief shading, so the slope appears in the pattern of the roads: long lines heading uphill, crossed by the coastal corridor at the bottom of the print.

01

Miho Bay coast

A smooth, open shoreline on the Sea of Japan forms one edge of the map. It is part of the long curve that runs toward Yumigahama.

02

Daisen slopes

Roads and streams descend from Mount Daisen in near-parallel lines, tracing the long, even incline of the volcano's lower flanks.

03

Coastal corridor

The main road and railway follow the shore, and houses and small centres gather in a narrow band beside them.
