Railway corridor
The line between Djibouti and Ethiopia runs through the region. Its long, gently curving path stands apart clearly from the short streets of the town.

Ali Sabih Map Poster & Print
Ali Sabieh is the main town of the region of the same name in southern Djibouti, close to the border with Ethiopia. From above it is a modest grid of streets set on dry, rocky ground. Hills and escarpments surround it, and they fade to near-empty space on a black-and-white print.
The town grew in part because of the railway linking the port of Djibouti with Addis Ababa, which passes through this corner of the country. Road and rail corridors are some of the few strong lines across the surrounding desert, and on the poster they give the composition a clear direction.
An Ali Sabih map poster is spare by nature. There is a concentrated block of streets and a handful of long routes, with a lot of quiet space around them. It is a good fit for people who like minimal prints, where the emptiness of the landscape carries as much weight as the town.

Compact street grid
The town itself is small and fairly regular, a tight cluster of blocks that forms a clear focal point in an otherwise open frame.
Arid hill country
Rocky hills and dry valleys surround Ali Sabieh. On the map they appear as broad empty areas crossed by only a few tracks.

This map suits people from southern Djibouti, those who have worked along the railway corridor, and anyone drawn to landscapes where very little is drawn. The large negative space makes it unusually calm on a wall.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be changed, for example to add the year you lived there. Sand echoes the desert palette, Noir makes the few lines glow, and Classic, Paper and Blueprint are there too.
