Limestone quarries
Large open quarries around the town appear as bold, irregular areas on the map, the source of the limestone used by the region's cement industry.

Ariyalūr Map Poster & Print
Ariyalūr is the headquarters of the district of the same name, in the interior of Tamil Nadu. From above, the town sits on a gently rolling plain, with a compact centre and roads running out toward Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur and Thanjavur. Around it, fields and dry scrubland alternate with large quarries, which appear as irregular open shapes on the map.
The area is known for its limestone, which supplies several cement factories, and for its geology: the rocks around Ariyalūr are rich in Cretaceous fossils and are studied by palaeontologists. The same district also holds Gangaikonda Cholapuram, the former capital built by the Chola emperor Rajendra I, although it lies some distance from the town.
An Ariyalūr map poster shows a working town set in a landscape shaped by what lies below the surface. The quarries, roads and railway lines together make a composition that is different from the usual temple-town grid.

Town centre
The central streets form a compact network with market areas and district offices, clearly denser than the scattered settlements around them.
Railway line
A railway line passes through Ariyalūr, a long straight stroke that crosses the plain and links the town to the wider network of Tamil Nadu.

For people who studied, worked or grew up in Ariyalūr, a map of the town is a clear reminder of where they started. It is also an unusual piece for geologists and fossil enthusiasts familiar with the area's rocks.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps in Tamil transliteration, and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand pairs well with the quarried landscape. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
