Desert setting
Open desert surrounds the settlement on all sides, leaving much of the poster empty and making the compact street pattern stand out sharply in the centre.

At Tāj Map Poster & Print
At Tāj lies in the Kufra district of south-eastern Libya, deep in the Sahara and far from the Mediterranean coast. It sits on higher ground at the edge of the Kufra oasis basin, and on the map the town appears as a compact pattern of streets surrounded by vast empty desert, with only a few roads connecting it to neighbouring settlements in the oasis.
The Kufra area is known for its large agricultural projects, which draw on groundwater from deep aquifers beneath the desert. Seen from above, these appear as circular fields irrigated by centre-pivot systems, a striking geometric pattern in the middle of the sand. Kufra has long been an important oasis on trans-Saharan routes linking Libya with Chad and Sudan.
An At Tāj map poster is an unusual subject, a place defined by the emptiness around it. The small grid of streets, the thin lines of desert roads and the vast blank ground make for a minimalist composition, where open space does as much work as detail. For those who know the Kufra oasis, it is a precise and rare reminder.

Raised position
At Tāj stands on higher ground at the edge of the Kufra basin, overlooking the lower-lying settlements and farmland of the oasis.
Oasis roads
A few long, straight roads cross the sand to link At Tāj with other settlements in the Kufra district, drawing thin lines across the empty ground.
