Badagry Map Poster & Print
Badagry lies in Lagos State, close to the border with Benin, on the northern shore of a lagoon that runs parallel to the Atlantic coast. From above, the town follows the water: streets and compounds line the lagoon edge, while a narrow strip of land separates the lagoon from the ocean. The long, horizontal bands of water and sand give the map a very distinctive shape.
The town has a heavy place in history as a port of the Atlantic slave trade, remembered today at the Point of No Return on the coast. It is also where Christian missionaries first preached in Nigeria in the 1840s, and it has what is often described as the country's first storey building. The Lagos–Badagry Expressway links it to the city.
A Badagry map poster brings these layers together in a simple drawing: the lagoon, the barrier strip, the ocean beyond, and the town gathered on the shore. It is a composition dominated by water, and in black and white the horizontal lines feel calm and weighty.

The barrier strip
A narrow bar of land between lagoon and ocean runs across the poster, the ground that leads to the Point of No Return on the Atlantic shore.
Road to Lagos
The expressway heads east toward Lagos, a firm line that ties this historic town to the metropolis while the old streets stay clustered by the water.

Badagry is a place of memory for many people in Nigeria and across the diaspora, and a map of it can be a reflective piece for a home or study. The drawing is quiet and unadorned, letting the lagoon and coast speak.
