Harbour and quays
Breakwaters and piers enclose the port in crisp geometric shapes. From here ferries and cargo ships connect the town with Istanbul and the wider Marmara.

Bandırma Map Poster & Print
Bandırma lies on the southern shore of the Sea of Marmara in Balıkesir Province, near the base of the Kapıdağ Peninsula. From above, the town curves around a bay, with the port and ferry terminal on the waterfront and streets rising in a fan behind it. Main roads head inland across farmland, and a railway line runs down to the harbour.
The port is one of the busiest on the Marmara, linked by sea with Istanbul and by rail with İzmir. The steamship Bandırma, which carried Mustafa Kemal to Samsun in 1919 at the start of the Turkish War of Independence, bore the town's name. Lake Manyas and its bird sanctuary lie a short distance to the south.
A Bandırma map poster shows a town oriented entirely toward the water. The shoreline and breakwaters form a firm edge, the quays add hard angular shapes, and the streets spread upward in a gentle arc. With open sea filling part of the frame, the composition has an airy, maritime feel.

Waterfront arc
The town wraps around its bay in a gentle curve, and streets fan inland from the shore to create a clear, half-moon silhouette.
Rail to the port
A railway line approaches the harbour from inland as part of the route toward İzmir, drawing a long single stroke that meets the sea at the quays.

Bandırma holds meaning for anyone born there, for sailors and rail travellers, and for anyone drawn to its place in the story of 1919. The map suits a coastal home or a study, and looks especially good in the Blueprint style.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with a family name or a date, and choose from five styles. The free 900 px preview shows the design, and the $9 HD files include six print sizes as 300 DPI PNGs and print-ready PDFs.
