The Roca line
The railway crosses Banfield in a strong line, dividing the grid into two sides that locals still distinguish as east and west.

Banfield Map Poster & Print
Banfield is a locality in Lomas de Zamora partido, in the southern part of Greater Buenos Aires. From above it is almost entirely grid: square blocks of low houses, tree-lined streets and small plazas, continuing without a break into neighbouring suburbs. The Roca line railway runs through the middle, and the station is the centre of local life.
The town grew around the railway in the late nineteenth century and is named after a British railway manager. It is widely known for Club Atlético Banfield, whose stadium is a landmark of the south side. The writer Julio Cortázar spent his childhood here and wrote about the neighbourhood in several stories.
A Banfield map poster makes the most of this dense, regular pattern. The grid fills the frame edge to edge, the diagonal of the railway cuts through it, and the station area and plazas break the rhythm. It is a quiet, highly textured image of an Argentine suburb.

For fans of the club, for people who grew up on its quiet streets, and for readers of Cortázar, Banfield is more than a suburb. A map of the grid holds all of that.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps a street corner or a date, add coordinates and pick one of five styles. Download HD files for $9, or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
