Checkerboard centre
The historic core follows a strict rectangular layout with evenly spaced blocks and small central squares, a pattern typical of planned towns in the São Paulo interior and very clear in print.

Barretos Map Poster & Print
Barretos lies in the north of São Paulo state, where the land flattens into wide stretches of cattle pasture and cropland. From above, the town reads as a tidy rectangular grid: short blocks, straight avenues and small squares set at regular intervals. The streets stop abruptly where the fields begin, so the outline of the town is sharp against the blank rural space around it.
The name is known well beyond Brazil because of the Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro, the rodeo festival held every August and often described as the largest in Latin America. Its purpose-built park on the edge of town appears on the map as a distinct oval set apart from the street grid. Barretos is also home to Hospital de Amor, a cancer treatment centre that serves patients from across the country.
A Barretos map poster keeps these layers in plain black line work. The dense centre, the looser residential streets beyond it and the roads leaving for the interior all fit into one frame. With no colour to distract, the regular grid becomes the main pattern, broken only by the festival grounds, a few green spaces and the curve of the highways passing the town.

Rodeo park
The grounds of the Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro sit on the edge of town as a separate shape, with the arena and its access roads standing out from the surrounding streets.
Open countryside
Past the last blocks the map turns almost empty, with farm roads running into pasture. That contrast between a dense grid and open land gives the composition a clear edge.

For people from Barretos, or anyone who has spent a festival week there, the map is an easy way to keep the town close. The grid is simple enough to read from across a room, and detailed enough that you can still find your own street, square or old school.
You can add a title, a subtitle such as a year or a family name, and a coordinates line, then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The digital files cost $9 and include six print sizes, or you can order a printed poster on matte paper.
