Historic core
The old centre is a small, dense cluster of streets around the main square, in contrast with the looser, more regular neighbourhoods built later.

Bastia umbra Map Poster & Print
Bastia Umbra lies on the valley plain of Umbria, just below the hill of Assisi. Unlike the region's many hill towns, it sits on flat ground, and from above its streets spread easily in several directions. The Chiascio river runs along the town. On a map you see a small historic core surrounded by more open, modern neighbourhoods.
The old centre keeps its compact outline, with the main square at its heart. Around it, housing, industrial zones and farmland extend across the plain in the straighter lines of later planning. The town is also home to Umbriafiere, the regional exhibition centre, whose large halls form a clear block on the map.
To the east rises the hillside of Assisi, visible from almost everywhere in town. A Bastia umbra map poster shows the relationship between plain and hill, river and fields. It captures the quiet order of a working Umbrian town that stands a little apart from its famous neighbours yet stays closely tied to them.

Chiascio river
The Chiascio runs close to the town, and its curving line and green banks give the map a natural edge on the plain.
Umbriafiere
The regional exhibition grounds appear as a group of large, simple rectangles, one of the most distinctive shapes among the town's streets.
