Reservoirs
Large reservoirs of the Alto Tietê system spread across the municipality with branching arms and inlets, the boldest and most sculptural shapes on the poster.

Biritiba Mirim Map Poster & Print
Biritiba Mirim lies in the Alto Tietê region at the eastern edge of Greater São Paulo, close to the headwaters of the Tietê River. It is a small, low-rise town, and from above its streets form a modest centre surrounded by a much larger rural area of farms, woodland and water. The Serra do Mar rises to the south, separating the plateau from the Atlantic coast.
Water is the strongest element in the map. The municipality holds part of the Alto Tietê reservoir system, which supplies drinking water to the metropolitan region, and the reservoirs appear as large, irregular shapes with long branching arms. Between them, farm roads cross vegetable fields and greenhouses, as the town is known as one of the state's horticultural producers.
A Biritiba Mirim map poster suits families from the town, including the many farming families of Japanese descent in the Alto Tietê, and São Paulo residents who come here for weekends in the countryside. The contrast between the compact centre and the wide, watery landscape around it gives the print an unusually open and balanced composition.

Town centre
A compact grid of low-rise streets forms the urban core, a small area of density surrounded on all sides by open countryside and wooded hills.
Farm roads
Rural roads and lanes cross vegetable fields and smallholdings, drawing a fine web of lines between the reservoirs and the forested slopes of the serra.

Some people know Biritiba Mirim as home, others as the quiet place just beyond the city where the air changes. Either way, a map of its streets and reservoirs is an elegant reminder of a slower pace of life.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or a year, and set the coordinates line. Choose among five styles; the digital files cost $9, and matte printed posters with an optional wooden frame can be delivered to your door.
