Bronte Map Poster & Print
Bronte lies in the province of Catania in eastern Sicily, on the western flank of Mount Etna. The town is built on sloping ground, its streets following the contours of the volcano. From above, the built-up area is compact and irregular, surrounded by countryside of old lava flows, terraces and orchards.
Bronte is famous for its pistachios, grown on the rough volcanic soil around the town and prized across Italy. Its name also has an English connection: in 1799 Horatio Nelson was given the title Duke of Bronte, along with an estate nearby, and the Brontë family is thought to have taken their name from it.
A Bronte map poster shows a town shaped by its volcano. The streets bend with the slope, lanes crowd the historic centre, and roads run out across the lava fields towards the surrounding villages and the mountain.

Pistachio groves
The countryside around Bronte is known for pistachio orchards on dark lava soil, a patchwork of plots on the edges of the map.
Historic centre
The old town's narrow, irregular lanes form a dense core, clearly distinct from the more open newer streets further down the slope.

Bronte draws people for its pistachios, its place on Etna and its links to Nelson and the Brontë sisters. A map of the town suits Sicilian families, food lovers and readers alike.
You can personalise the title and subtitle, add a date and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir gives the volcanic setting a dark, dramatic look.
