Cabeceiras de Basto Map Poster & Print
Cabeceiras de Basto lies in northern Portugal, in the green, hilly country of the Terras de Basto in the district of Braga. From above, the town centre occupies a valley floor, while roads wind upward in all directions through terraced fields, woods and scattered villages. To the north the ground rises toward the Serra da Cabreira, and the map grows lighter and more rural.
At the centre stands the Monastery of São Miguel de Refojos, whose baroque church and large domed silhouette dominate the town. The streets gather around it, making it the clear focal point of the plan. A Cabeceiras de Basto map poster shows how a small settlement grew around a religious house, with lanes that follow the terrain rather than a grid.
The area is known for granite houses, vineyards producing vinho verde, and a weathered Iron Age warrior statue known locally as the Basto, which has become a local symbol. Seen in black and white, the winding roads and dispersed villages create a delicate pattern that reflects the region's hills.

Winding hill roads
Roads curve up the valley sides through fields and woodland, connecting scattered villages and forming a loose, graceful network across the hills.
Serra da Cabreira
The mountain range rises to the north, where settlement thins out and the map opens into broad, quiet upland terrain.

Cabeceiras de Basto has close family ties, and many people who left the region for Lisbon or abroad still think of it as home. A map of the town is a way to keep those valleys and roads close.
Personalise the poster with a title, a subtitle and a coordinates line, and choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to Sand. The digital download costs $9 and includes six sizes as 300 DPI PNG files and print-ready PDFs.
