Cacimba de Dentro Map Poster & Print
Cacimba de Dentro is a municipality in the Curimataú region of Paraíba, in Brazil's semi-arid northeast, close to the uplands around Araruna. The town is compact, a cluster of streets and blocks around its centre. On the map the land around it is a loose network of rural roads, small farms and the winding courses of streams that flow only after rain.
The name itself says something about the region. A cacimba is a hand-dug well or water hole, often made in a dry riverbed to reach the water below the sand, and such wells have long been essential in the sertão. Water, how scarce it is and how it is stored in small reservoirs and ponds, shapes both daily life here and the pattern seen from above.
A Cacimba de Dentro map poster presents a small place clearly and with care: the dense town centre, the roads leading to neighbouring municipalities, and the ponds and dry stream beds scattered through the countryside. It is a fitting gift for people from the Curimataú now living in João Pessoa, Recife, São Paulo or further away.

Seasonal watercourses
Streams across the municipality run only in the rainy season, yet their curving beds stay visible on the map as delicate lines through the fields.
Small reservoirs
Ponds and small dams scattered across the countryside show how carefully the region manages water. They appear as small irregular shapes among the rural tracks.
