Compact centre
The heart of town is a small group of streets around the main square and church area. It forms the densest part of an otherwise open map.

Caetés Map Poster & Print
Caetés lies in the agreste of Pernambuco, the transitional zone between the humid coast and the dry sertão. The land is hilly and semi-arid, and the town is small. On a map it appears as a modest cluster of streets on uneven ground, with roads leading toward nearby Garanhuns and farm communities.
The town is widely known as the birthplace of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who was born in the area when it was still part of the municipality of Garanhuns. His family's move from the agreste to São Paulo in his childhood follows a migration path shared by many people from the region.
A Caetés map poster is a portrait of a small place with a large national connection. The layout is simple: a few main streets, a compact centre and open countryside around it. For people from the agreste, and for those interested in modern Brazilian history, it is an understated piece.

Agreste hills
The surrounding land rises and falls in dry, rolling hills. On the map that means roads bend and settlements scatter rather than forming a grid.
Road to Garanhuns
A regional road links Caetés with Garanhuns, the nearby larger town. It appears as a long line crossing the open countryside toward the edge of the sheet.

Caetés suits families from the Pernambuco agreste, including the many who later moved south. It also suits anyone interested in the places behind Brazil's political history. The map records a home town in simple, clear lines.
Change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and Portuguese names and dates work well. There are five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand reflects the dry landscape.
