Caia Map Poster & Print
Caia lies on the southern bank of the Zambezi in Sofala province, central Mozambique. The river here is very wide, with sandbanks and islands shifting in its channel, and on the map it fills much of the frame. The town sits beside it as a modest grid of streets, with the main north–south road running through it towards the river.
That road crosses the Zambezi on the Armando Emílio Guebuza Bridge, opened in 2009, which links Caia with Chimuara on the northern bank. Before it was built, vehicles crossed by ferry. The bridge is a long, straight line across the water, the single most striking feature of the map. Around the town, the land is flat and partly flood-prone, with farms and scattered settlements.
A Caia map poster sets that long bridge and the broad river against the small, orderly town. In black and white, the composition is simple and powerful: one straight line across a wide expanse of water. It is a strong image for anyone who knows the Zambezi or has travelled this road.

The wide Zambezi
The river is broad here, with sandbanks and islands in its channel, and it dominates the map on the town's northern side.
Main road town
Caia's modest street grid is organised around the main north–south road, which runs through town and on to the bridge.

Caia is a fitting print for people from Sofala, anyone who has worked on or travelled across the Zambezi bridge, and lovers of Africa's great rivers. The wide water and single bridge make a bold image.
