Cathedral square
The main plaza and its cathedral anchor the centre of town. The densest streets gather around this open space, and the grid is easy to read from here.

Chilapa de Álvarez Map Poster & Print
Chilapa de Álvarez sits in the mountains of central Guerrero, well above the hot Pacific coast. From above, the town is a tight cluster of blocks set into a basin. Roads climb out of it in several directions, following the ridges and valleys instead of running straight. Around the edges, the contour lines press close, and the built-up area thins into scattered houses and fields.
At the centre is the main square and the large cathedral, and most of the street grid lines up with them. Chilapa is known across the region for its weekly market, which fills the streets near the plaza, and for its handcrafts and traditional dances. In a Chilapa de Álvarez map poster, that dense core stands out as a dark knot against the lighter, looser pattern of the slopes.
The hills make the map unusually varied for a town of this size. Streets bend where the ground rises, short blocks break into lanes, and the roads leaving town look almost like rivers from a distance. The black-and-white treatment leaves out colour and traffic, so what is left is the basic plan of a mountain town that grew outwards from one square.

Market streets
Chilapa's well-known weekly market spreads through the blocks near the centre. On the map these form the tightest part of the grid, with short streets and closely packed buildings.
Mountain approaches
Roads leave the basin along ridges and valleys, bending with the terrain. They give the edges of the poster long, curving lines in place of a regular grid.

For people with family roots in Guerrero, this map is a quiet reminder of a particular square, a market morning or a house on one of the sloping streets. It suits a hallway or a study, where it can be read slowly instead of taken in at a glance.
You can change the title and subtitle, and add a date or a line of coordinates that means something to you. The five styles are Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Choose the $9 HD files for six print sizes or order a printed poster.
