Colonial grid
The historic centre is laid out in regular square blocks around the Plaza de Armas, one of the clearest examples of the Spanish grid in central Chile.

Curicó Map Poster & Print
Curicó lies in Chile's Central Valley, in the Maule Region, between the coastal range and the Andes. Its centre follows the classic Spanish colonial grid, a regular pattern of square blocks set around the Plaza de Armas. Beyond the centre, residential areas spread onto the level valley floor, and Ruta 5, the main north–south highway, passes along the city's side.
The city was founded in the eighteenth century and is the hub of the Curicó Valley, one of Chile's best-known wine regions, surrounded by vineyards and orchards. Its Plaza de Armas is known for its tall palms, and Cerro Condell, a small hill close to the centre, offers green space and views across the city. The 2010 earthquake caused significant damage to the older building stock.
A Curicó map poster emphasises the orderliness of the grid, broken by the rounded outline of Cerro Condell and the diagonal roads heading out to the countryside. Around the edges, field boundaries begin to appear. The print reads like a clear diagram of a Chilean valley town, precise at the centre and gradually looser as it meets the farmland.

Cerro Condell
This small hill near downtown breaks the grid with a rounded green form, with paths and roads curving around its slopes instead of running straight.
Vineyard edges
Around the city, the regular geometry of fields and vineyards takes over, showing how closely Curicó is tied to the agricultural valley that surrounds it.
