Argeș River
The river runs along the town's edge in a broad valley, giving the poster a long line of water and floodplain that frames the streets.

Curtea de Argeş Map Poster & Print
Curtea de Argeş lies on the Argeș River in southern Romania, at the point where the Wallachian plain meets the foothills of the Făgăraș Mountains. On a map the river runs along the eastern side of the town, the streets climb gently to the west, and the valley narrows to the north toward the high Carpathians.
The town was one of the early capitals of Wallachia, and its Princely Church dates from the fourteenth century. The richly decorated Curtea de Argeș Cathedral, the subject of the legend of Master Manole, is the burial place of several Romanian kings and queens. The road north through the valley leads toward the Transfăgărășan.
A Curtea de Argeş map poster shows a town shaped by its river and its hills. The main streets follow the valley, the historic core sits on the higher ground, and the Argeș forms a strong line along one side. It is a quiet, elegant map with a clear sense of direction toward the mountains.

Princely heritage
The old princely court and the cathedral grounds occupy the historic part of town, where the street pattern is older and more irregular.
Toward the mountains
North of the town the valley narrows and the roads head toward the Carpathians, pulling the map's lines upward toward the high ground.

Curtea de Argeş is a place of royal history, monasteries and mountain roads, and many travellers pass through on their way to the Transfăgărășan. A map of the town keeps that journey, or a family connection, on the wall.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the date of a trip or a wedding. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 files or order a printed poster.
