Dakhla Map Poster & Print
Dakhla sits near the end of a narrow peninsula that runs for about forty kilometres along the Atlantic coast of Western Sahara, a territory whose status remains disputed. On the map, the peninsula looks like a long finger of sand. It shelters a wide, shallow bay from the ocean swell.
The town itself is compact. Its streets form a fairly regular grid near the peninsula's tip, with the port on the bay side. The rest of the peninsula is mostly open desert with a single road running along it. The lagoon waters inside the bay are known for oyster farming and for steady winds that draw kitesurfers.
Founded as the Spanish outpost of Villa Cisneros in the late nineteenth century, Dakhla now sits where desert and ocean meet in a very clean line. A Dakhla map poster turns that meeting into a simple, graphic composition.

Sheltered lagoon
The calm bay behind the peninsula is shallow and wide. It is known for aquaculture and for kitesurfing in its steady trade winds.
Grid near the tip
The town's regular street plan sits compactly at the end of the peninsula, with open sand stretching away from it on every side.

Dakhla draws people for the wind, the water and the emptiness around it. The map suits anyone who has kited the lagoon or lived on the peninsula, and anyone drawn to its striking outline.
Set your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps with the dates of a trip, and pick one of five styles. Sand matches the desert tones, and Blueprint makes the lagoon and ocean the focus.
