Douar Tindja, often written Tinja, sits in the Bizerte Governorate of northern Tunisia at a rare geographic junction. It lies on the short channel that connects Lake Ichkeul to the larger Lagoon of Bizerte, so on a map the town appears pressed between two expanses of water, with its streets arranged along the land that separates them.
That position defines the whole picture. To one side is Ichkeul, the lake at the centre of a national park listed by UNESCO for its importance to migratory birds. To the other lies the lagoon that opens toward Bizerte and the Mediterranean. The channel between them is the thread holding the composition together, a thin line of water running past the town.

The lake to the west is the heart of Ichkeul National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as a major wintering ground for migratory birds.
Lagoon of Bizerte
To the east, the broad lagoon spreads toward Bizerte and the sea, appearing on the poster as a wide, calm shape against the built-up shore.
