Branching lanes
Narrow lanes fork off the main roads to reach houses set in their own plots. From above they form an intricate, tree-like pattern.

Erannoli Map Poster & Print
Erannoli lies in Kannur district in northern Kerala, a short distance inland from the coastal town of Thalassery. Like much of the Malabar region, it does not have a single compact centre. Houses are spread out along a network of roads and lanes, set among trees, gardens and fields, so the town merges gradually into the surrounding villages.
On a map this settlement pattern makes a fine, branching mesh. Main roads link Erannoli with Thalassery and the rest of the district, and smaller lanes loop off them to reach individual homesteads. Streams and low-lying fields interrupt the network here and there.
An Erannoli map poster captures this dispersed, very Keralan way of living on the land. It has none of the grid of a planned town. Instead there is an organic tracery of lines that almost looks hand-drawn, especially in the lighter styles.

Link to Thalassery
Roads toward Thalassery and the coast are the strongest lines on the map, connecting the town to the wider Kannur region.
Water and fields
Small watercourses and patches of low-lying cultivated land break up the built area, adding gentle open shapes to the composition.
