Closely spaced residential streets create an even, woven texture across most of the township, one of the most distinctive patterns on the map.

Etwatwa Map Poster & Print
Etwatwa lies in the east of Ekurhuleni, the metropolitan municipality east of Johannesburg, and adjoins the older township of Daveyton near Benoni. From above it shows a strongly regular pattern: long rows of small residential plots arranged in tight blocks, crossed by a few main roads and bordered by open veld.
The township grew largely in the late twentieth century, and later extensions added new sections as housing programmes expanded. Its layout reflects this planned growth: wide collector roads and repeated street patterns, with schools, clinics and sports grounds appearing as larger open rectangles within the fine grain of housing.
An Etwatwa map poster turns that fine grain into a graphic image. In monochrome, the closely spaced streets form a textured field, the main roads cut through it with clear lines, and the open land around the township frames the whole. People from the area recognise this kind of map immediately, and newcomers find it striking.

Link to Daveyton
Etwatwa adjoins Daveyton, and the two townships read on the map as one continuous built-up area with slightly different street geometries.
Open veld edges
Grassland and open ground surround the township on several sides, giving the dense grid a clear, sharply defined outline.

For many families on the East Rand, Etwatwa is simply home: childhood streets, church halls and football on open ground. A map puts that place on the wall with dignity, drawn as carefully as any city centre.
Add a family name, a section or a date to the title and subtitle, and keep or edit the coordinates. Five styles are available. The HD download costs $9, and printed posters on matte paper are shipped by print partners in more than 30 countries.
