Main road spine
The town is organised along the road between Kaolack and Fatick, which runs through it as a strong line and gives the whole plan its direction.

Gandiaye Map Poster & Print
Gandiaye is a town in the Kaolack region of central Senegal, in the broad, flat farmland known as the groundnut basin. Seen from above, it follows the main road between Kaolack and Fatick, with a spread of blocks and sandy streets on either side and fields reaching out in every direction. There is little relief here, so the plan is shaped almost entirely by roads.
Toward the south and west lies the Saloum country, where the land drops toward salt flats and tidal channels. That setting gives the outskirts a pale, open character. On a print, the town appears as a clear pattern of streets surrounded by wide empty space, which is exactly what makes a small-town poster feel restful.
A Gandiaye map poster works well for people from the town or the wider Sine-Saloum area who now live elsewhere, and for anyone who knows the road between Kaolack and the coast. The design stays spare: thin street lines, a centred title and the coordinates below, so the town's modest geometry carries the whole story.

Flat groundnut country
Gandiaye lies in Senegal's groundnut basin, a level agricultural landscape where fields surround the town and the edges of the built area stay soft and open.
Saloum lowlands
Toward the Saloum, the terrain turns into low, salty flats and channels, a pale fringe that frames the town when the map is drawn at a wider scale.

This map is for someone who grew up here, whose family still lives on these streets, or who passed through on the way to the Saloum delta. It turns a place most atlases skip into something worth looking at every day.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to change, so you can add a family name or a year. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download 300 DPI files for $9 or order a printed poster.
