Gros Islet Map Poster & Print
Gros Islet sits at the northern end of Saint Lucia, the Caribbean island in the Windward chain. On a map the coastline dominates: the wide, sheltered curve of Rodney Bay, the inner lagoon dredged into a marina, and the headland of Pigeon Island joined to the mainland by a causeway built in the 1970s. The old fishing village of Gros Islet lies at the north end of the bay.
Pigeon Island is a national landmark, with the ruins of British military fortifications on its hills, from which fleets once watched the French on Martinique. Rodney Bay Marina is known among sailors as the finish point of the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers. In the village itself, the weekly Friday night street party has long drawn residents and visitors alike.
A Gros Islet map poster brings together sea and settlement in a compact frame. The village streets form a small grid by the water, the marina lagoon creates a distinctive inner shape, and the causeway draws a clean line out to Pigeon Island. It is a map with a strong silhouette, easy to recognise at a glance.

Pigeon Island causeway
A causeway links the mainland to Pigeon Island, a national landmark with historic fort ruins, drawing a firm line across the northern end of the bay.
Marina lagoon
The inner lagoon of Rodney Bay Marina creates an enclosed, irregular body of water behind the beach, a well-known destination for transatlantic sailors.

Gros Islet marks many kinds of memories: a honeymoon on Rodney Bay, the end of an Atlantic crossing, a Friday night in the village or simply home. A map of the northern tip of Saint Lucia puts all of those into one clear picture.
